I've had people say all of these things to me at some time or another.

I sometimes just wish others would not say anything than to hear them say stuff that isn't very helpful.
Hope this helps others when they hear these comments.
Really good seed.
I wrote something called "The Insulting and Ignorant Things People With Fibromyalgia Hear..." and it's in the archives here in Fibromyalgia Friends (August 2010). It pretty much listed the things I heard on a daily basis about Fibromyalgia, which are the same as in this article. The sad thing is, I still hear these statements today, over 1 year later. My answer to those statements I hear is a simple "you're wrong". After 5 and a half years, I've learned that is the most simple and direct response. It's not always my answer, but it works pretty good. ;)
why them are the 10 dumbest things i have heard in a long time. i'm sorry for all that have pain some more then others, but sorry for there pain.
Thanks, buddy. Pain is very real and can be very debilitating, especially when you hurt day after day after day....
Sometimes a "cheery outlook" doesn't do enough. All you can do is try to get though. Wish more people understood like you do. :)

My aunt has it.
Sadly, she fell into an addiction of pain killers.
She isn't the same person any more.
There are natural food remedies that are shown to work, over time.
People can't find them, or give up too soon.
Pills are the quick "fix" unfortunately, with long term side effects.
Anyone that thinks 'pills are the quick fix' is looking for something that doesn't exist with fibro. There doesn't seem to be any 'fix' either quick or slow for this illness. I disagree with your statement that natural foods will fix this also. I have been ill for over 14 years and I have tried everything from herbal medicine to organic foods and I am still suffering on a daily basis.
I have tried every medication recommended and some that were used 'off label' and I have tried every treatment from acupuncture to reiki to chiropractics to biofeedback. Some things gave some slight relief while others made me decidedly worse but none came even close to curing me. The biggest problem with the illness is that what works for one person doesn't work for another. There is no real way to have standardized treatment when every patient reacts or responds to treatments in their own unique way.
